It prepares them to determine their choice of a path within the final cycle up to the general or technological baccalaureate with the aim of successfully continuing their higher education and, beyond that, their professional integration.<\/p><p>It combines:<\/p><ul><li>Common lessons for a strengthened common culture<\/li><li>Optional courses: students can choose a maximum of two optional courses (one from among the general optional courses: German-Theatre-Plastic Arts)<\/li><\/ul><h6>Devices to better support students<\/h6><p>A substantial schedule (up to 54 hours, as an indication and according to the needs of the students) is dedicated to supporting the choice of orientation. A substantial common core is followed by all students who benefit in particular from two hours of scientific teaching per week in the first and final years. Also part of this common core are French (in the first year), philosophy (in the final year), history-geography, modern languages A and B, EMC and EPS. In total, the common core lessons represent nearly 60% of the total lessons in the first year and 55% in the final year.<\/p><h6>Progressivity of courses: the choice of specialty courses<\/h6><p>In the final cycle of the general route, in addition to the common courses, students follow compulsory specialist courses of their choice: 3 in first class and 2 in final class.\u00a0<span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-d9c29ee ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-size: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-size ); font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight );\">These lessons allow students to gradually acquire skills and knowledge adapted to their future choices of higher education.<\/span><\/p><p>In first class, students must choose their 3 specialty courses (at the end of general and technological second class) from a list of 7 possible specialties.<\/p><p>In the final year, students choose to keep 2 of the 3 specialty courses from the first year, depending on their interests and their higher education plans.<\/p><h6>Optional courses<\/h6><p>Optional courses (1 choice in the first year and 2 at the most in the final year) allow students to complete their training according to their interests and their plans for further study.<\/p><p>Optional courses specific to the final year of high school (\u201ccomplementary mathematics\u201d, \u201cexpert mathematics\u201d and \u201claw and major contemporary issues\u201d) may allow students to broaden their options for higher education.<\/p><h6>Enhanced guidance support<\/h6><p>As in the general and technological second year class and in addition to personalized support based on the needs of each student, 54 hours of guidance support for choosing a career path is offered to students to refine their choice of specialty courses in the final year class and prepare their future choice of further higher
