Do you love chess? The UNSS National Chess Challenge, organized by the UNSS in partnership with the French Chess Federation (FFE), is back for the 2025\/2026 school year. This national online tournament will take place over three days via the lichess.org platform.<\/p>


This is a great opportunity for LFIM students to represent their school in a national competition.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

When and how does it take place?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The UNSS National Chess Challenge 2025\/2026 will be played over three days online:
from Wednesday 15 to Friday 17 October 2025<\/p>

The pace of play is 7 minutes + 3 seconds per move.
The format is played in Arena mode on Lichess, and the four best results of each team will be taken into account for the overall ranking.<\/p>

At the end of the three days, the six best teams in each category (middle schools, high school, high school) will qualify for a national final. This final will be held in teams of four players to determine the French UNSS Chess Champions.<\/p>

Participating in this challenge means living a unique experience based around school sports and strategic thinking.
Chess helps develop concentration, logic, anticipation and decision-making.
