For the first time, the French International School of Malaga had the honor of hosting the back-to-school seminar for supervisory staff from the Iberian region.

This major event brought together, for three days, all the directors of French schools in Spain and Portugal. Organized by the AEFE – Agency for French Education Abroad, the seminar was held this year in Malaga, under the auspices of the French Ambassador to Spain, Kareen Rispal.

A dynamic and essential network

The French school network in the Iberian Peninsula is the largest in Europe, with more than 22,000 students spread across schools in Spain and Portugal. These institutions actively contribute to the promotion of the French language and culture abroad, while embodying the values of openness, multilingualism, and educational excellence promoted by the AEFE.

A high-level delegation received at the LFIM

During this week, the Lycée Français International de Malaga had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from the AEFE, who came to talk with the management and teaching teams.
The delegation was composed of:

  • Ms. Vassiliki Driancourt, Deputy Director General of the AEFE

  • Mr. Max Vasseur, Head of Southern Europe Sector

  • Mr. Simond de Galbert, Advisor for Cooperation and Cultural Action

  • Mr. Laurent Bertat, Deputy Advisor for Cooperation and Cultural Action

  • Mr. Bruno Eldin, Head of French Education Abroad (DGM/DDC/LFE)

This visit allowed for rich discussions around the school's educational projects and its local and international roots.

Three days of discussion and collective reflection

For three days, management staff worked on major educational and strategic issues:

  • communication with families,

  • the use of screens and the protection of minors,

  • the attractiveness of the French model,

  • multilingualism,

  • and the economic model of the AEFE network.

These themes, at the heart of current concerns in the educational world, gave rise to numerous exchanges of good practices and concrete perspectives for the coming year.

A highlight for the educational community

This seminar, the first of its kind in Malaga, was a unique opportunity for encounters, sharing, and collective reflection. It was also a wonderful recognition for the Lycée Français International de Malaga, proud to have hosted this event on its premises.

A highlight in the service of excellence, cooperation and the influence of French education abroad.
