UNSS National Chess Challenge 2025/2026: join the competition!

Do you love chess? The UNSS National Chess Challenge, organized by the UNSS in partnership with the French Chess Federation (FFE), is back for the 2025/2026 school year. This national online tournament will take place over three days via the lichess.org platform.

This is a great opportunity for LFIM students to represent their school in a national competition.

When and how does it take place?

The UNSS National Chess Challenge 2025/2026 will be played over three days online:
from Wednesday 15 to Friday 17 October 2025

The pace of play is 7 minutes + 3 seconds per move.
The format is played in Arena mode on Lichess, and the four best results of each team will be taken into account for the overall ranking.

At the end of the three days, the six best teams in each category (middle schools, high school, high school) will qualify for a national final. This final will be held in teams of four players to determine the French UNSS Chess Champions.
