Welcome to the French International School of Malaga

Patrice Outin

Director

You are welcome to our website. Thank you for stopping for a few moments to discover our establishment in its richness, its specificities and its many qualities.

Working and living at the Lycée français international de Malaga (LFIM) is a joy at all times as the working atmosphere, the school climate, the quality of the supervision are excellent.

The LFIM has an agreement with the French state and we benefit from significant financial aid from it. When students leave our establishment, they can enroll in an establishment with a French program (public establishment in France or approved establishment abroad) without taking entrance tests, they can also join the Spanish school system. Their ability to adapt is very important.

The history of LFIM

Three French teachers create, in Torremolinos in a villa with a garden, the first school welcoming around forty young French people.
1966
Two other schools are opening: one in Malaga (50 students), the other in Torremolinos (15 students).
1967
On September 15, at the request of the Consul of France in Malaga, these three “small schools” merged to become the French School of Malaga. The teaching, with the support of the National Center for Distance Education (CNED), goes from the Preparatory Course to the Terminale. From the first year, it's success. While 80 children had been planned, it is, in reality, 120 who will return to the Villa Rosa (Paseo de Reding).
1968
The school moved into a villa on Paseo de Sancha, in 1981, it expanded by occupying a second villa there. Faced with the growth in numbers and after long research, the “Lycée Français de Málaga” moved in June 1986 to the Cerrado de Calderón in the exceptional setting of a former Sports Club.
