French High Schools Around the World Week 2024
Of November 25-30, 2024, there Week of French high schools around the world (#SemaineLFM) is back for an inspiring 8th edition! This flagship event, organized by theAgency for French Education Abroad (AEFE), highlights the unique role of the 580 French establishments spread across 139 countries.
With the theme “Francophonie: our establishments create and innovate”, this week celebrates the linguistic, cultural and educational diversity that makes the AEFE network rich, while promoting innovative projects carried out by students and teaching teams around the world.
A rich and varied program
Here are the highlights of this edition:
Monday November 25 : live launch from Dakar, Senegal 🇸🇳. A special program, hosted by students, will welcome personalities such as Claudia Scherer-Effosse, Director General of the AEFE, as well as representatives of establishments in the region.
Tuesday November 26 : key witnesses will share their experiences around the French-speaking world and innovation. Among them:
- Martin Boujol, a literary influencer followed by thousands of readers.
- Jerome Ferrari, winner of the 2012 Goncourt Prize and former teacher in the AEFE network.
- Ines Yabar, a former student of the French High School of Lima, now an environmental activist at the United Nations Foundation.
Thursday, November 29 : heading for a real radio world tour with the Grand direct on Twitch 🎙️. During 5 p.m., 55 establishments, from South Africa to Thailand, will take turns to share their projects, through interviews, reports and round tables.
⏰ Go to the AEFE Twitch channel 4:20 a.m. to 9:40 p.m. (Paris time) so you don't miss anything!Friday November 30 : closing in style with a tribute to the Telethon, strengthening the solidarity and inclusive commitment of students. Since 2013, the AEFE has been a partner of this event, highlighting local actions and initiatives in favor of scientific research.
A tribute to the French-speaking world and multilingualism
This edition places particular emphasis on the French-speaking world, echoing the recent Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Francophonie organized in France last October. With students from diverse linguistic backgrounds, French schools around the world celebrate French as a common language, while promoting multilingualism and interculturality.
