- What was your background after high school?
I did a degree in dentistry at the University of Seville. After that I decided to go to work and specialize in France where I currently practice.

- What did your schooling at the Lycée bring you in your studies and in the world of work?
Having studied in the Spanish system and the French system allowed me to discover two different teaching systems. The choice for my course of higher education was much wider. Speaking French allowed me to go to work in much better conditions than if I had stayed in Spain. Thanks to the Lycée Français, I got to know French culture and my settling in France went quite naturally.

- What memory do you keep of the Lycée?
I have very fond memories of high school. The setting was beautiful, full of greenery, it felt like being outside while being in class. The atmosphere in class was very good. When you are in class for 14 years with the same people, inevitably you end up getting along well and making friends. I have good memories of teachers and employees (some more than others necessarily). But in general they were all nice and liked their jobs.
When I think of high school, I see myself picking nuts, loquats, pomegranates to eat during recess. I remember class changes in the sun and giggles with those who are still my friends.

- What was your background after high school?
After high school I continued my studies in Medicine at the Facultad de Medicina de Malaga. Suddenly, I found myself faced with an unexpected contrast: studying all subjects in Spanish. The language was certainly not a problem, but I missed the teaching method that I had cherished for 15 years in high school. Later, I specialized in family and community medicine in Granada, because I liked the global approach to the specialty and the contact with patients of all nationalities. The vicissitudes of fate and the economic situation led me to join the Health Emergency Service 061, where I developed my care activity in helicopters and ambulances for more than 9 years. I have now left the streets (who knows if momentarily) for a rural hospital. And yes, the COVID took me full, I am one of those you have seen wrapped in special protective suits to enter homes to help patients in their worst moments.

- What did your schooling at the Lycée bring you in your studies and in the world of work?
Studying in high school isn't just about language, it's a method and an approach that I know will follow me all my life. This obviously opened up enormous possibilities for me to be able to work at any time in foreign countries without the language being a barrier, it also allows me to be in contact with French colleagues and the media, in this increasingly more globalized where we no longer understand individualism, but teamwork and cooperation. Learning the value of rigor, effort and perseverance, required very early in high school, allowed me to get where I am today. Moreover, curiously, the language allowed me to be a technical health adviser to certain French media which are still interested in the situation in Spain.

- What memory do you keep of the Lycée?
If I had to sum up my memories of 15 years of French high school in one word, I would say happiness. I even have very fond memories of when the school was on the Paseo Marítimo! I still remember many teachers from my early childhood (Mrs. Flecchia, Mr. Cohen, Mrs. Gutierrez, Mr. Rouverand, Paul Peramo…). I remember the races on the sports field, the student-teacher meetings, the video library, the way we celebrated the holidays, or the endless exams of the BAC. The best thing about high school is without a doubt the people who taught me and the friends who surrounded me, most of whom are still there and among whom there is more than one former teacher . We were very happy at the Lycée.

- What was your background after high school?
After finishing my studies at the Lycée français de Malaga, I obtained a degree in economics at the University of Malaga. After graduating and completing my MBA, I began my immersion in the job market by working as a strategy and transformation consultant at one of the Big Four, namely Ernst & Young. Although I was based in Madrid, I developed projects in several countries around the world. I have always combined my professional experience with continuous training. So I started a doctorate in international economics at the UNED while evolving professionally. In 2004, I decided to join and lead the expansion of our family business, dedicated to the development of internationalization projects for global companies. To our base in Spain, I have added openings in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Bahrain. For all projects with our clients, my motivation is always to generate value and history for their companies, supporting them in their overall growth. Finally, I was trained in one of the most prestigious international business schools in the world, INSEAD, headquartered in Paris, although my "international management diploma" was also obtained in Singapore.

- What did your schooling at the Lycée bring you in your studies and in the world of work?
The Lycée Français is the best place to understand the true globality of the world in which we live. It is not only the possibility of learning several languages, but the greatness of the system is to be able to really live in cultural environments that are as diverse as they are enriching. The opportunity to grow as a person with other children from different family, cultural, religious and linguistic backgrounds gives you a real insight into the diversity of the world we live in. For my professional development, it was essential to train me from an early age in a global community, based on freedom and respect for all cultures and all ways of life. This allows you to never be a "stranger" no matter what country or city you are in.

- What memory do you keep of the Lycée?
I remember it as a big family where, like in all big families, there were lights and shadows. It was there that I found friends that I still have and who helped me become the person I am. It was in high school that I learned that merit is something that one must seek through constant and daily work, and that it is the only way to achieve the objectives that one sets for oneself in life. life. Finally, I am proud to have been educated in the French values of liberty, equality and fraternity, which are the foundation of democracy.

-- What was your background after high school?
When I finished my studies at the Lycée in 2011, I didn't really know which path to choose. As I had done the Bac L, it seemed “logical” to me to continue my literary studies at university. After two years, I realized that was not what I wanted (being strong in a discipline is not necessarily what brings happiness!). This is where I started my studies in audiovisual communication in Granada. I went to Barcelona to finish my last year of university and that's where I got my first internship, where I worked for Mango in the e-commerce department. This is how my career in the corporate world began and thanks to this experience, I stayed in the marketing/e-commerce/digital sector. With this experience what I want to share is that no matter what decisions we choose when we are young, it is positive to change, to have hybrid and enriching experiences. The most important thing is to maintain curiosity.

-- What did your schooling at the Lycée bring you in your studies and in the world of work?
I appreciate having received an education with this humanistic approach, where the students were really invited to think about whatever subject it was. I also appreciate that the study method is so rigorous, since it allowed me to be organized in the world of work.

-- What memories do you have of the Lycée?
I have very good memories of the last two years at Lycée, when we were already in Terminale. I loved the literature and arts classes. I liked going to the CDI when we had free time, I still remember that the school subscribed to many French magazines and that I could take home to read them.

• What was your background after high school? After high school (BAC 1995) I went through a preparatory class for the Grandes Ecoles at Lycée Bellevue (Toulouse). Following an entrance examination, I joined CESTI (now ISAE-SUPMECA ISAE-Supméca - Institut Supérieur de Mécanique de Paris (isae-supmeca.fr), a general engineering school with a major in mechanics. With my diploma in 'Engineer specializing in CAD/CAM, I developed my career in industrial software publishers, with various customer-oriented positions first at Dassault Systèmes in France and then at AVEVA from Spain but with extended teams.

• What did your schooling at the Lycée bring you in your studies and in the world of work? Having completed my schooling at the Lycée first allowed me to access high-level studies in France by pursuing engineering training. A training that I would not have had access to otherwise. It is especially at the level of work and the positions occupied that I have been able to see the advantage of having gone through the Lycée. The analytical and organizational spirit instilled by French education allowed me to quickly access positions of great complexity and responsibility. Mastering languages (French, Spanish and English, then Italian) remains a key element for me and opened the door to positions with international projection. Also, the first-hand access to French culture has clearly marked my personal development.

• What memories do you have of the Lycée? I have excellent memories of my time at the Lycée: the setting, the staff and of course the classmates. I have always kept in touch with the establishment and even today my best friends are former students of the Lycée. Besides, my children are now high school students. Antonio Retamero (Bac 1995)

• What was your background after high school? It was at the age of 5 or 6 that I arrived at the Lycée Français de Malaga, in CP class with Brigitte! (I hope she is well). And yes, I did the full course, until Terminale, where I passed my Bac, with a small mention.

• What did your schooling at the Lycée bring you in your studies and in the world of work? First, culture. The fact of being surrounded by teachers gifted with a pedagogy, with a way of transmitting this knowledge, of learning to use a critical, reasonable mind, rather than the mechanical, is part of a culture originating from spirit of enlightenment. The language, the fluidity, the ease we feel to mix, to communicate without problems. I have often told my colleagues that the Lycée is a trilingual rather than a bilingual school: Spanish, French then English are the pillars for moving anywhere in the world. Thanks in large part to languages, today I work as an engineer. Finally, it is a school that taught me to develop my personality for the good, while showing me empathy for others. Thank you for all those times you supported me.

• What memories do you have of the Lycée? Ahh, the memories....There are a few good ones...Outings with the classes...the sports day! The number of times I found myself in front of Mr. Peramo! (or even Mr. LeBlanc...) I have always been told that I was a good student, too nervous, a little insolent, but always interested in learning, participative, and who sought to help others. Brigitte, Jean-Denis, Adeline, Valérie, then Marie (first outing in France), are the first who marked me (especially Adeline, who put me in my place). Mrs. Merle, Mrs. Dilly, Villemain, Courtois, Levy, Lamouré, Tosca, Chabot, Mear, Mr. Carlos, Cloatre, Cabrera, Uriel....... are just a few teachers and people who are among the best I have had, always motivated to teach! Thank you for supporting us every day.
I could talk about more personal memories, but maybe we could do a little book on the good ones, but also the bad ones, because not everything was a path of roses...
I hope the Lycée remembers me as fondly as I remember him.
With great pleasure, we will meet again soon.
